I am ridiculously late posting this, but here is a wonderful review of Fables by Nick Sturm:

"A tension between the known and the unknown, charged with a menacing ambiguity, pulses through Goldstein’s language. Antiquated elements (“poisoned bread”) mix with contemporary moments of horror (“the brief sweep of the flashlights”) to create a wholly new kind of fable, one with implications that are discomforting and threatening in their lack of resolution."

Hey Small Press small review of Fables

The fine folks at Hey Small Press have a short review of Fables up. And while you're there, print out the pdf of all the reviews this month and then request them from your local library! (Hint: if the page doesn't load right away, try a refresh.) This is a site I'll be following from now on...what a great idea.

Oh my, what a long time and no posts. There's not much in the way of images to show off, since I've been writing, or trying to write, much of the fall, winter and early spring. Here's a little bit of that effort at The Society for Curious Thought. Will be working on some drawing and trying (again!) to incorporate it into video over the summer.

Neko Case and Best Friends Animal Society

Because I love all things Neko Case, I'm posting a link to download a song off of her new album. Every time someone reposts the song, Neko will donate $5.00 to Best Friends Animal Society. These fine folks took in many of the dogs from the Michael Vick dog fighting ring bust.

Two of the Battle (with Goya) pieces will be part of the South Shore Art Center's National Drawing Show. The SSAC is located in lovely Cohasset, MA. The show runs November 7-December 31.

California

Fox Group 1 will be be shown at the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art in Santa Ana, CA starting next week. The group show is called Animal Magnetism and more info can be found here.

The images above are part of some digital photography of my drawings that I'm playing with right now. Later in the fall I may also have some proper gouaches to post as well.
